Flowers are among the most frequently depicted subjects in the history of painting. Flowers have inspired artists of all ages and cultures. From Kahlo, Rivera, Picasso, O'Keeffe, Murakami, Renoir, Matisse, and Twombly to Warhol, Van Gogh, Koons, Manet, Mondrian, Klimt, Monet, and Katz, everyone has used them in their prolific work. The strokes of these renowned artists add diversity to the art world. I am most fascinated by the floral minimalism of Twombly—this Flowers Series is inspired by his flowers, colors, and strokes.
